E-Bike

Can I connect a light to the battery? Is there already a cable in the bike for a lighting sytem?
The cables for the front light are already prepared within your frame. You can ask your local dealer to route them outside and activate the light. For the rear light, a cable needs to be plugged in close to the motor cover. Your dealer has to help you with that one as well.
How do I do a firmware update? Is it recommended?
We recommend to get updates for your bike. If there is a new firmware, your local dealer can update your bike.
How do I get my battery out?
Remove the cover with the lock system, turn key, press button on top of the battery and hold the battery. Be careful that you don't drop the heavy battery
Can I change the battery to a smaller/ larger battery?
That is not possible, because you have to change the battery rail and cables could be too short.
Can I add a second battery?
Yes, but not for the models with 750 Wh battery. Otherwise the mounting parts can be ordered by our FOCUS dealers. They can upgrade your bike and order the second battery itself directly at Bosch. The integrated, removable 625 Wh battery (or 500 Wh) can have its range extended with a second, external 500 Wh battery.
How far can I ride with the bike?
There is no definite answer to that. Different factors have an impact on your range: Your weight, your luggage, the terrain you ride, which support mode you prefer and and even the temperature influence how long your battery will last. There is a range assistant by Bosch that can give you an idea: https://www.bosch-ebike.com/en/service/range-assistant
Can I tune my e-bike?
No, that's not possible and even if it would, we do not recommend it.
Smartphone connectivity
Via Bosch Kiox or Smartphone hub (plug and play).
How do I transport my e-bike?
Only a few steps need to be taken. Remove the battery, pull off the display and put the cover back on - done.
What parts am I allowed to change at my e-bike?
For changing ware parts and components, only use original spare parts. Besides original spare parts, it is allowed to use compatible parts that have been explicitly approved by us. Please ask our customer service.
Can I buy a replacement battery and a replacement charger?
Replacement batteries and chargers for our bikes with BOSCH motors can be purchased through your FOCUS dealer at BOSCH.

Parts

Which groupsets do fit? With what dimensions?
Of course all groupsets that we offer in the different specs do fit: Shimano XT, SLX or DEORE and a SRAM SX Eagle. All are equipped with a 12-speed drive.
I want a different fork. What do I need to take into account?
If you want to change your fork, the one you choose has to be "e-bike ready" and approved by the manufacturer. The travel must be 100 mm. In case you are in doubt, ask your local dealer.
Can I add an internal dropper post?
Yes, it is possible. You can route the cable through the entrance in the down tube and up to the seat tube. Short travel droppers can be used. Ask your local dealer for support.
Can I add fenders, kickstand and rack?
Yes, that is possible. The JARIFA² offers mounting points for fenders, stand and rack. There are fitting spare parts that you can order at your dealer: fender set (Art. number: 890000100, mounting only possible with rack), rack (Art. number: 313030800). For the front light, there are cables already installed in your frame. Your dealer can route them outside and can also connect a rear light to your battery.

Equiptment

Can I attach a bike trailer?
The JARIFA² is allowed to pull bike trailers that are attached to the thru-axle and are not single-lane. This family-friendly update only applies when the respective maximum system (rider, co-riders, bike, trailer, equipment) weight of 150 kg is not exceeded.
Which pannier fits?
Probably most panniers will fit. But as there are many manufacturers out there, it is impossible to check all of them. For example, we often use the Ortlieb pannier. That one fits. To be 100% sure, you have to try your favourite pannier directly on your bike or ask your local dealer.

Damage

What do I have to do when I have material damage at my bike?
Judging a damage from the outside, a distance or based on a picture is almost impossible. In case of a damage you should visit your local dealer.
