The ATLAS is built to accompany your escape into nature. Due to the combination of long reach and short stem, it is a rather long bike resulting in a smooth ride. The front end provides confidence while going downhill, while short chainstays make the gravel bike playful and agile. Thanks to various mounting options, the ATLAS is ready to carry all your equipment for your next bikepacking adventure. On top, it offers up to 47 mm tyre clearance (carbon version: 45 mm). The ATLAS EQP models are already fully equipped with a rack, fenders, kickstand and a lighting system. Whether in bad weather conditions or on demanding surfaces, when suffering during steep climbs or going the really long distances – the fast and comfortable gravel bike offers full control and maximum versatility. The ATLAS fully supports your ride – even to the end of the world.

Dimensions/ Standards

I need more details on dimensions (bottom bracket, headset, etc.).
6. series (aluminium): Bottom bracket 68 mm BSA;
8. series (carbon): Bottom bracket 86,5 mm Press Fit;
Both use the same headset with integrated cable routing: IS52/1 1/8" a the top and IS52/1.5" at the bottom;
For more, see the exploded drawings: ATLAS 8. series MY23
ATLAS 6. series MY23
What is the maximum rotor dimension?
180 mm front / 160 mm rear
Which shifting groupsets do fit? With what dimensions?
Our bikes are compatible with Shimano's GRX system with maximum 46/31 teeth combination and with groupsets from Sram with up to 43/30 teeth combinations.
What is the maximum tyre width?
6. series (aluminium) frame maximum: For 700c wheels, it is 47 mm.
8. series (carbon) frame maximum: For 700c wheels, it is 45 mm.
If you use 650B wheels, it is 2.1" (53 mm).
Which wheelsize should I take?
We designed the ATLAS around 700c wheels. With the generous tyre clearance of the frame allowing you to run up to 47 mm wide tyres with the ATLAS 6. series (aluminium) and 45 mm with the ATLAS 8. series (carbon), there's not much of a reason to opt for 650B wheels. You can run them with tires of up to 53 mm though. Just keep in mind, that this will reduce the bottom bracket height and alter the riding characteristics slightly.
What is the maximum seat post length?
Theres's no limit for seat post length. This means you can choose a smaller frame to fit your shorter torso length, even when you have long legs. Just be aware when choosing a seat post, that there is a minimum of 10 cm insertion needed.
You also have to keep the maximum seat post insertion of your ATLAS in mind. These are the maximum seat post insertion lengths for the different frames and sizes:
Maximum seat post insertion for 8. series (carbon): XS: 200 mm, S: 200 mm, M: 230 mm, L: 260 mm, XL: 300 mm.
Maximum seat post insertion for 6. series (aluminium): XS: 220 mm, S: 250 mm, M: 285 mm, L: 315 mm, XL: 340 mm.
What is the maximum system weight?
The total weight limit is 120 kg for the ATLAS. It includes the weight of the rider, the bike and all equipment.

Parts

Can I add an internal dropper post?
Yes, we especially prepared the ATLAS to have this option.
Can I add fenders, a kickstand or a rack?
Yes, it's possible, but it depends on the model and series, plus you have to keep dimensions in mind.
For the 6. series (aluminium), we offer plenty of options: We have a fender set (accessory Art.Nr. 311030700) and rack (accessory Art.Nr. 313029700) combination. Here is how to install it: Carrier + Fender Assembly
You have to be aware that you can use these fenders only in combination with the rack. You also have to use smaller tyres (maximum 40 mm/700x40c) to fit all our fender sets. To mount a kickstand (18 mm distance between holes), we provide an adapter (accessory Art.Nr. 212000000) that can be attached below the dropout. We also offer already fully equipped 6. series bikes (EQP) in our portfolio.
All these options don't apply for the 8. series (carbon). There is no option for a regular stand or rack. But you can use our Adventure Rack (accessory Art.Nr. 313029000) and fender set (accessory Art.Nr. 311038100).
You can order all parts via your local dealer.
Can I change between 1by and 2by?
Yes, both are possible. We even have different spec versions offering those two options. Some of our ATLAS models come with a minimalist setup with one chainring and no front derailleur. And others are fitted with two chainrings for a wider range of gears. This comes in handy when you are riding with more bags and tend to be drawn to the mountains.
What cranks are compatible?
If you want to change from Shimano to another Shimano GRX crankset, the maximum teeth combination you can use is 46/31. If you want to change from Shimano to Sram or the other way around, you also have to change the bottom bracket. The maximum teeth combination for Sram is 43/30.
Can I use electronic and mechanical shifting?
Yes, both is possible.
How many water bottle cages fit?
The bike's frame provides three mounting options for bottle cages. One bottle cage can be screwed at the seat tube and two more at the down tube – one above and one below. The fork offers the option to additonally have one bottle cage each side.
How does the computer mount work?
Have a look at the exploded drawing to see how it works in combination with your stem: C.I.S. stems
You can order the computer mount via your dealer (accessory Art.Nr. 998057400) and he will help you install it. To additionally attach an action cam or light, you have to order the GoPro mount (accessory Art. Nr. 998027400).
How do I change the stem / stem length?
You can change to any standard 1 1/8" stem or opt for another length of our C.I.S. stem. To learn more about how to change to a standard stem, please see the respective question in our FAQ. Regarding our C.I.S. stem,, we offer the stem in six lengths from 70 to 120 mm and you can use it on both 8. (carbon) and 6. series (aluminium). Aditionally, you can adjust the handlebar height with special two-piece spacers. Please see the manual (C.I.S Road Stem) and exploded drawing (C.I.S. stems) and ask your local dealer for help.
I want to ride with less spacers. How do I do that?
Please see the manual (C.I.S Road Stem) on page 7. You can adjust the handlebar height with our special two-piece spacers. If in doubt, please ask your local dealer for help.
Can I change to a standard 1 1/8" stem?
Yes, you can mount any stem you want. You only need a new headset cover from Acros. This is the headset cover you need when converting to a regular stem: Acros is52 headset cover ICR
For (more) spacers this is the fitting set: Acros spacer-set, fiber, od34
Please be aware that you have to dismount your brake lines and shifter cables to do convert to a regular stem. When changing the headset cover, grease the bearings to extend the lifetime of your headset. If you want to upgrade the bearings, here is a stainless steel option: is52/is52 bearing kit ICR:Acros is52/is52 bearing kit - integrated cable routing
The whole process is similar to the one described in the following video. The only difference: You can skip the part with the cables going through the stem as yours running underneath the stem: FOCUS C.I.S. cockpit change
I saw a computer mount directly attached to the stem of the ATLAS 8. series. How can I get it?
You can order it via your local dealer (accessory Art.Nr. 998057400). You can easily attach your Wahoo or Garmin to the ATLAS C.I.S. stem with this computer mount. To additionally attach an action cam or light, you have to order the GoPro mount (accessory Art. Nr. 998027400). See the exploded drawing for more: C.I.S. stems
I have an ATLAS 6. series but want that nice-looking stem of the 8. series. Is that possible?
Yes, that is possible. As all cables run into the headset close to your current stem, you can mount our C.I.S. stem. You need to get the new stem, rear cover + ahead cap, 5 mm + 10 mm spacer, cable holder, face plate and bearing cap for the ATLAS from your local FOCUS dealer. Let him or her change it. Please see the manual together, ask your local dealer for help and let him or her change your stem.
