SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed

Our interpretation of cross-country

  • Light carbon frame with I.C.S. integration

The light carbon frame makes the new RAVEN 8.7 as stiff as necessary and as comfortable as possible. A smart internal compartment solution (I.C.S.) in your downtube offers space for your essential tools.

  • Fun off and on the trails

A shorter stem and longer top tube give this fast hardtail mountain bike with 120 mm travel a more direct steering response with increased stability. With its wide 2.4" tyres, the RAVEN 8.7 is not only fun downhill, but also very comfortable. But not just that: The RAVEN 8.7 offers all-around fun riding making even the way to the trail a great and fast riding experience.

  • Head angle adjustment

By turning the headset cups, you can easily change the head angle of your RAVEN 8.7 from 66.5° to 67.5°. A steeper angle provides a more agile setting. The slacker position is more stable and downhill-oriented.

Dimensions/ Standards

I need more details on the dimensions (bottom bracket, headset, etc.).
Please see the exploded drawing: RAVEN MY23
What is the maximum rotor dimension for the disc brakes?
You can use a maximum rotor dimension of 180 mm front and rear.
Which shifting groupsets fit? With what dimensions?
You can use all regular 1by-groupsets with a chainring of up to 36 teeth (36T) and a cassette with a large sprocket of maximum 52 teeth (52T).
What is the maximum tyre width?
61-622 or 2.4" (inch).
Which wheel size should I take?
29" (inch) wheels
What is the maximum seat post length?
The seat post length depends on the frame size. We specified dropper posts with the most travel possible for the respective bike size (S & M = 125 mm, L = 150 mm, XL = 170 mm travel). Check out the geometry chart on the product page for the respective length. The maximum insertion depth per size for our RAVEN is: S: 300 mm, M: 215 mm, L: 255 mm, XL: 300 mm. On top of that, it depends on the actual dimensions of the dropper post.
What is the maximum system weight?
The total weight limit is 110 kg for the RAVEN. It includes the weight of the bike, the rider and all equipment.
What kind of headset does this bike use?
IS52/IS52 ICR with head angle adjust by Acros Components. For more details, check their website here: Acros

Parts

I want a different fork. What do I need to take into account? What measurements are important?
The installation length is important: axle-to-crown height of 521 mm and a 44 mm rake. As we can't test all theoretically fitting forks, we can't generally guarantee that all of them work. To make sure you use the right fork, please talk to your dealer.
Can I add an internal dropper post?
Yes. The RAVEN 8.9 and 8.8 models are already specced with a dropper post (S & M = 125 mm, L = 150 mm, XL = 170 mm travel).
Can I add fenders, a kickstand or a rack?
No, the bike is not meant for fenders, a rack or a stand. Therefore, there are no standard mounting points.
Can I change between 1by and 2by? What are 1by and 2by?
No, the bike has no front derailleur mount and is therefore designed for one chainring in the front. 1by and 2by mean that the bike is either equipped with only one or two chainrings in the front.
What cranks are compatible?
Every crank that is suitable for your drivetrain and fits a 73 mm BSA bottom bracket (BB).
Does the bike have a chain stay protector?
Yes, the RAVEN comes with an already mounted chain stay protector.
Can I change to electronic shifting/ mechanical shifting
Yes, both are possible.

Equipment

Which bikepacking bags fit?
The sizes vary a lot depending on the bag brand. We recommend checking the bag brand's website. Often, they offer stencils to check if it fits the frame.
Can I use the bike on a smart trainer?
No, we did not test it yet and therefore can not approve it.
Can I attach a bike trailer?
No, we did not test it yet and therefore can not approve it.
How many water bottle cages will fit?
You can mount two bottle cages directly on the bike frame: one on the down tube and one on the seat tube.
How many water bottle cages will fit?
For frame sizes M, L and XL, you can mount two bottle cages directly on the bike frame: one on the down tube and one on the seat tube. For frame size S, only one bottle cage can be mounted on the down tube.

Damage

What do I do when I have material damage at my bike?
Judging damage from the outside or based on a picture is almost impossible. In case of damage, you should visit your dealer.

Technology

Is there an easy and nice option to mount a bike computer?
You have the option to order our Universal Computer Mount via your dealer. It allows you to mount your Garmin or Wahoo computer directly to the stem and also gives you the option to install an action cam or light additionally. Here you can find the order number for your dealer: Exploded drawings
You can find more general information about the stem here: C.I.S.
How do I change the stem/stem length?
Sieh dir hier bitte die Bedienungsanleitung an: C.I.S.
I want to ride with less spacers. How do I do that?
