In addition to two outstanding stage victories, the French team excelled by achieving ninth place in the overall rankings (Romain Bardet) and several top places in the general classification. Despite being blighted by falls and injuries, the team AG2R La Mondiale showed true sporting spirit. They continued to fight for the leading positions and not only clocked up a number of top-ten places, but also managed to impress thanks to their vast presence with their new FOCUS Izalco MAX. The top-ten placements included a solid 10th place in the demanding team time trial. This reflects how the performance of the team, which uses the FOCUS Chrono MAX, is continuously improving. In addition to the admirable esprit demonstrated by the whole team, Jean-Christophe Péraud (2nd TdF 2014) deserves a special mention. He selflessly sacrificed himself for the team despite a number of severe injuries from falls. This helped Romain Bardet, who worked hard to collect points in the mountain stages, to earn the right to climb the legendary Alpe d‘Huez wearing the polka dot jersey. The talented 24-year old was also crowned most combative rider of the Tour de France 2015 on the Champs-Élysées. Kudos!
