Makes the most of every trail

  • Nimble and light pure bike characteristics

The JAM² SL 8.8 is the perfect light e-MTB for people who want the best price-performance ratio. The full-carbon frame optimises the weight without compromising on stiffness and usability. The top tube is designed in the most radical and minimalist way. Thanks to the shock semi-integration, the JAM² SL 8.8 has a low stand-over height that gives you generous space for moving. Still, all parts to adjust your shock settings are easy to reach. As the motor and battery of our JAM² SL 8.8 are fully integrated in the down tube, this e-MTB not just rides but also looks like a pure bike.

  • Support power of an e-bike

The FAZUA Ride 60 drive unit provides the feeling of a natural ride but still has got your back on all climbs. The compact and light, yet powerful system has 60 Nm torque and a maximum power output of 450 W. If you need an extra push, the boost function helps you to tackle even the steepest sections. Thanks to the high efficiency of the FAZUA system and a battery with 430 Wh, your ride won't stop before reaching your very own Rider's High. The drive system already features three different riding modes. On top, you can individualize the motor support based on your riding preferences via the FAZUA App. It allows you to set Max Power, Support Relation and Ramp-up according to your own personal needs.

  • Adjustable geometry and adapted kinematics

The JAM² SL 8.8 features two points to adjust your geometry: the head angle and the chainstay length. The steeper head angle of 65,5° results in a more agile handling of the bike, while the slack position of 64,5° gives it a more downhill-oriented setting. Switching the FLIP CHIPs and adjusting your chainstay length from 440 to 447 mm changes the whole set-up of your bike. With longer chainstays, the JAM² SL 8.8 rides more stable and makes steep climbs easier, whereas the short setting leads to a more agile geometry. For the JAM² SL 8.8, we adapted our F.O.L.D. (FOCUS Optimised Linkage Design) and reduced the amount of linkage parts resulting in a significant weight loss. The updated kinematic design reduces brake influences and gives you maximum control of your bike in every situation.

Dimensions/Standards

I need more detailed information on dimensions (shock standard, bottom bracket, headset, etc.).
Please check out the exploded drawing.
What is the maximum brake rotor dimension?
You can use a maximum brake rotor dimension of 220 mm.
Which groupsets fit? With what dimensions?
The largest chainring you can use has 34 teeth, the biggest cassette has 10 to 52 teeth.
What is the maximum tire width?
Maximum tire width is 66 mm or 2.6" (29" wheels).
Which wheelsize has the JAM² SL?
29" wheels
What is the maximum seat post length?
The maximum seat post insertion depends on your frame size: S: 220 mm; M: 250 mm; L: 270 mm; XL: 290 mm
What is the maximum system weight?
The JAM² SL is made for a maximum system weight of 135 kg. It includes the weight of the bike, the rider and all equipment.
What is the fork standard?
The standard 1 1/8 - 1.5" fork steerer has to be used.

E-Bike

Can I connect a light or other equipment to the battery? Is there a light cable already in the bike?
Yes, you can. Please contact your Dealer. There is no cable prepared internally.
How do I get my battery out?
You need a 6 mm Hex key (Allen key) to unlock the battery cover. You can use the Allen key from the thru-axle of your JAM² SL. Please consider the direction in which you need to turn the Allen key, that is shown on the cover itself. Turn the Allen key 90 degree. After opening the cover, you can easily remove the battery with only one click.
Can I change the battery to a smaller / larger battery?
No, that is not possible.
Can I connect my smartphone to the bike?
Yes, you can connect your smartphone via the FAZUA App. Within the FAZUA App you can change your support mode settings and download new profiles.
How far can I ride with the JAM² SL?
There is no definite answer to that. Different factors have an impact on your range: Your weight, gear, tire pressure, the terrain you ride, which support mode you prefer and even the temperature influence how long your battery will last.
Can I add a second battery?
You can't install a second battery.
Can I tune my e-bike?
No, that's not possible and even if it would, we do not recommend it.
Can I ride the JAM² SL without battery?
Yes, that's possible. There is no resistance coming from the motor. Your bike will just be heavier than a pure bike due to the motor.

Suspension

How much travel has the JAM² SL?
160 front and 150 rear
I want a different shock. What do I need to take into account?
Our advice is to use the specced shock because we optimised it for the F.O.L.D. kinematics. If you still want to change, you should speak to your local dealer and try if another one fits. As there are many shock models in the market, we cannot guarantee that another one will work. The assembly dimensions of the shock are 210x55 mm, 25x8 mm at the shank, no bushings at the body.
How do I adjust the spring rate of my shock? What is SAG?
SAG is a measurement unit to individually adjust the spring rate of your air shock. It indicates how much the shock compresses when you just sit on your bike without moving. You adjust the SAG by changing the air pressure in your shock with a special shock pump. Our SAG recommendation is 30% which corresponds to 16.5 mm. To see the actual percentage, please use the O-Ring that is placed on the shock. For detailed set-up recommendations for your shock, you can also check out pressure charts.

Parts

Does the JAM² SL feature an internal dropper post?
Yes, all our JAM² SL come along with an internal dropper post.
Can I change between 1by and 2by? What is 1by and 2by?
1by and 2by means that the bike is either equipped with two or only one chainring in the front. Our e-bikes are 1by only as the motor just allows one chainring.
Does the bike have a chain stay protector?
Yes, a chainstay protector is mounted.
Can I change to electronic shifting / mechanical shifting?
Yes, both is possible.
What to do, if I want to change from 29" to 27,5" or the other way around?
The JAM² SL series is designed for 29" wheels exclusively.
Does the JAM² SL have a USB-C port?
Yes, the JAM² SL has a USB-C port so you can charge your phone or sat nav while you ride. It is hidden in the battery level indicator on the top tube. You have to lift the top of the display to access the USB-C port.

Equipment

Can I add fenders, kickstand, rack?
No.
Can I attach a bike trailer?
We can't permit the usage of a bike trailer for our carbon rear ends.

Carbon

What do I do in case of material damage at my bike?
Judging a damage from the outside or based on a picture is almost impossible. In case of damage, you should visit your dealer.
What is MAX Carbon?
Our Carbon technology optimises the stiffness-to-weight ratio of bikes. As the MAX Carbon layup contains a significant amount of high modulus fibres, it takes optimisation even one level further. This layup saves even more weight than our carbon layup without compromising on stiffness.

Technology

Which function do the FLIP CHIPs have?
The FLIP CHIPS adjust the chainstay length and balance the bike's geometry for bigger frame sizes. We deliver our bike sizes S and M in a short position, L and XL in a long position.
Which FLIP CHIP position should I use for my JAM² SL?
We deliver our bike sizes S and M in a short position, L and XL in a long position. If you switch the position for S and M, the bike rides more stable and makes steep climbs eaiser. Switching a L or XL bike to a short position results in a more agile geometry.

Dimensions / Standards

What kind of headset does the JAM² SL use?
We deliver our bike sizes S and M in a short position, L and XL in a long position. If you switch the position for S and M, the bike rides more stable and makes steep climbs eaiser. Switching a L or XL bike to a short position results in a more agile geometry.
Can I adjust my head angle position?
Yes, between 64,5° and 65,5°. Our bikes are being delivered with a standard setting of 65,5°.
How can I adjust my head angle position?
Please check out the following YouTube explanation: head angle.

NUMERATION

THE FOCUS SYSTEM OF NUMERATION
All bikes are labelled with two numbers which are divided by a dot. The number in front of the dot represents the frame material and its quality. Carbon is always attributed with the highest number: 9 stands for the highest quality carbon layup, 8 is an "eco" layup or carbon/aluminium mix. Our aluminium bikes start at 7 or lower. The number behind the dot stands for the level of specification.
Example: JAM² SL
9.X: MAX full carbon frame
8.X: Full carbon frame
X.0: Exceptional top spec beyond the regular spec, in this case super light
