Focus Bikes

Looking for a photographer for our next action shoot, we met Ashley and her husband Jered in Cloppenburg. As we had seen their pictures of this year’s Giro d’Italia, we were fascinated of the style they both take pictures of landscape, professional cyclists and even of everyday bike rides. “Would be great, to have such pictures for promoting our bikes!” was one of our thoughts. Jered, 29 years old and Ashley, 24, have decided to spend their everyday life in Europe. Earlier this year they featured the classics, like the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix and in May they went along with Giro d’Italia. Besides their photo equipment, Ashley and Jered always take their bikes. They are riding FOCUS bikes: The Izalco Team 2.0 with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 is their partner on rides through Europe.

We got to know them a bit better and so we noticed how crazy and fascinating their lifestyle is. Who doesn’t want to travel around, hunting the pro peloton at the most popular competitions in Europe and who doesn’t want to see new countries, cities and to meet new guys every day? But if you are thinking about the “Gruber’s lifestyle” you may come to the thought: “Hey, isn’t that a bit risky? Isn’t that very ambitious to live like that?” We don’t want to pass judgment – we only can say: Hey, Ashley! Hey Jered! We are deeply impressed by your pictures and by your passion for the sport of cycling!
