Bicycling Magazine Editors Select FOCUS Izalco as “Best Enthusiast Bike” For Third Consecutive Year

(April 20, 2012; Carlsbad, CA) For the third year running, FOCUS is on the top step, winning the prestigious Bicycling Magazine Editors’ Choice Award. The FOCUS Izalco Pro 3.0 earned praise for its efficiency, ride quality andstriking aesthetics, earning victory in the “Best Enthusiast Bike” category.“We are extremely proud to receive the Bicycling Magazine Editors’ Choice Award again” said Scott Rittschof, CEO of FOCUS Bicycles USA. “We respect Bicycling’s editors as true experts who have put the best bikes in the world to the test. For the third year in a row they have selected our FOCUS Izalco. That really says something about the greatness of this bike.”

Editors from Bicycling Magazine, the world’s most widely distributed cycling publication, spent a week testing finalist bikes in Tucson, AZ, before anonymously submitting individual scores based on a number of qualities. When the votes were tallied, Bicycling editors had chosen the FOCUS Izalco Pro 3.0 as the winner in the Best Enthusiast category, citing its ability to “dive through switchbacks with breathless abandon” with a “stiff, unified feeling under power.”

The German engineered FOCUS Izalco Pro 3.0 features a high-modulus carbon frame with distinctive internal cable routing, BB30 bottom bracket, tapered head tube and a 3T Rigida Pro full carbon fork. The bike’s strong marks in handling and power transfer reflect countless hours of interaction between professional racers and the FOCUS engineering team. The Izalco Pro 3.0 comes equipped with a complete SRAM Force group (including choice of a compact 34/50 or race 39/53 crankset) and DT Swiss R1850 wheels. It features stealth grey on black graphics, and retails for $3,700. The bike is now available at all FOCUS dealers in the United States and Canada.
