Pictures and training insights provided by the team liaison manager Martin Böckelmann

Team Liaison Manager Martin Böckelmann accompanied the Katusha team on its second training camp in a matter of weeks. The professionals from the Russian team spent 14 days in Calpe (Spain) preparing themselves for the coming race. Böckelmann dispatched photos and the latest training news for www.focus-bikes.com.

“Apart from those seven taking part in the Santos Tour “down under”, the rest of the Katusha professionals were all in attendance.”

“During the training camp the team was put through various performance tests – on their competition bikes as well as on time trial bikes.”

“The new red Katusha strip has met with general approval…

…even Alex Kolobnev approves, who as the Russian champion will nevertheless be sporting a white jersey.”

“The mood was great, but you could feel the tension in the air.”

“The Katusha Team starts the season with great expectations. You can tell that the team as a whole, as well as the individual athletes, are putting themselves under pressure.”

“Trainers, mechanics and cyclists function as a well-established team. I am delighted at how well this triumvirate works in the Katusha camp, and at how accurately each approaches the task in hand.”

“The Katusha Team is due to release more information, including its targets for the 2011 season, during the team presentation in Moscow.”

“Best wishes from Spain – Martin!”
