FOCUS Izalco Pro 1.0: Perfect form meets perfect function
RennRad 11/12-2010 article "Schweißgeruch"
Sporting last season's pro frame, the Izalco Pro 1.0 was put to the test by the RennRad editorial team. The bike scored high on its superbly detailed appearance and state-of-the-art functions.
In a test entitled "Schweißgeruch", RennRad examined four mass-produced and four individually produced bikes. Entered by FOCUS as a mass-produced bike, the Izalco Pro 1.0 impressed all round. In particular, the testers were bowled over by its intricate design, perfect down to the very last detail. Even the covers, handlebar tape and saddle are colour coordinated with the two-tone paintwork. Pure, high-gloss white meets matt red. Nor were the editors forced to deduct any points for the bike's functions and components. Fitted with Shimano’s top groupset, Dura Ace, with a Mavic Ksyrium wheelset as the finishing touch, the Izalco Pro 1.0 has absolutely everything a cyclist could wish for. All in all, the FOCUS bike scores fantastically well, and has even netted a score of 7.77 on RennRad’s own scale, making ten points possible in theory. The verdict of the editorial team: "Superb frame, innovative appearance and a top-quality wheelset – it’s got the whole package."
