FOCUS: Official supplier of the Tour de Suisse
The German brand provides the official bike of the Swiss bike race together with three neutral material vehicles – daily „Bruno Risi race for young athletes” in the starting area.
For the first time, the German sportive bike brand FOCUS acts as a Tour de Suisse partner for the 2010 season (June 12th through June 20th, 2010). Thus, FOCUS is the official bike of the Swiss bike race. In addition, FOCUS provides the neutral material vehicle. The cooperation with the organizer of the Tour de Suisse is another important contribution to the increasing internationalization of the brand FOCUS.
Among the Pro Tour teams the Tour de Suisse is considered to be an important preparatory race prior to the Tour de France and one of the most important European stage races. In interaction with other engagements – FOCUS is, among others, material partner of the German Pro Team Milram and TV presenter on Eurosport – FOCUS marketing manager, Herwig Reus, expects an increase in the brand awareness throughout Europe. “The demand for FOCUS is disproportionately high in Switzerland. We would like to force this development. At the same time there have already been successful cooperations between FOCUS and Swiss personalities. The FOCUS time trail machine Izalco Chrono resulted from a long and close cooperation with the Swiss time trail guru, Andreas Walser, and the legendary cyclist, Bruno Risi. The latter completed his successful career in February 2010 on a FOCUS bike. Hence, we feel obliged to support the future ‘Risis’,” explains Reus.
In cooperation with Bruno Risi who recently withdrew from professional bicycle sport FOCUS is going to organize a race for young cyclists on every day of the Tour de Suisse. In the starting area of each lap, auspicious racing talents compete against one another in skill tests and on the time trail courses. This way they get a taste of the pro sport atmosphere. Besides a short visit to the Pro Team Milram under the expert guidance of Bruno Risi a concluding award ceremony of the best athletes on the stage is part of the program.
